Trumpeter Barry Long is the director of jazz studies at Bucknell University. He was the first recipient of the Doctoral degree in Jazz Studies from the Eastman School of Music.
Kevin Lowe is the drummer in the Zeropoint Big Band, Erin Condo & the Hoofties, and Lemont. He is widely known as a sensitive and versatile musician.
Bob Hart is the bassist in Zeropoint and Pure Cane Sugar. He is indeed a musician’s musician, and has toured with Debbie Harry, Van Dyke Parks, and Kat Edmondson.
Pianist Clay Wulbrecht is a graduate of the esteemed jazz studies program at Indiana University, and moved to State College shortly before the pandemic. He has quickly become a key member of the local jazz scene.
Saxophonist Rick Hirsch is the musical director of Zeropoint, and has been presenting exciting jazz shows in Central PA for over 20 years. He has performed with jazz legends Max Roach, Clark Terry, Tito Puente, Louie Bellson, and Phil Woods.
The performance is at Penn State’s Penns Woods Music Festival, which typically programs classical chamber and orchestral music.
The concert will be on the Olsan Stone Terrace outside the new Recital Hall. In case of inclement weather, we’ll be in the Recital Hall.
